Shop Staff Required: Tropical Fish House / Sales Assistant (30/01/2019)

If you have experience with keeping fish and love aquariums, then we might have a job for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced tropical fish hobbyist to come and join our shop team. Major roles would include fish keeping, fish tank maintenance, serving customers, and making sales. The position available is for a full-time member of staff of any age, and applicants would need to be reliable, punctual, and be prepared to work weekends. Working hours involve a 5 day rotational week/days with other staff, which may include an occasional Bank holiday (excluding Christmas day, Boxing day or New Years Day).

  • Additional requirements for application are as follows:
  • You must have a good knowledge of freshwater fish keeping.
  • Been able to identify the most common types of tropical fish.
  • Good understanding of water quality management.
  • Problem identification and understanding of fish health.
  • Good liaison skills with staff and customers.
  • Good Problem solving skills.
  • Not afraid of getting your hands dirty.
  • Based in the London area.

You should also have a keen interest and eager to learn more about the different fish species that we sell and there husbandry. Our in-house aquarists can teach you more about this.

Aquarium Servicing Position Required (01/02/2019): Fish Tank Maintenance Person

We have a vacancy position working as part of a very busy team in our aquarium maintenance department, servicing and maintaining marine reef aquariums in the south London and surrounding areas of the South East. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated member of staff who has a passion for marine and freshwater fish keeping.

The position available is for a full-time member of staff, and applicants would need to be reliable, punctual and be prepared to work every other Saturday. You should have a keen interest in marine and freshwater aquariums, fish husbandry, be enthusiastic, hard-working and eager to learn all aspects of fish and aquatic invertebrate husbandry. Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday and every other second Saturday. Rotational hours with other staff maybe involved.

  • Additional Information Needed:
  • You must have a good knowledge fish keeping and fish husbandry
  • Some marine fish and coral reef aquarium knowledge, although you will be also progressively trained as you go.
  • Good understanding of water quality management.
  • Problem identification and understanding of fish health.
  • Good liaison skills with staff and customers.
  • Good Problem solving skills.
  • Current UK Driving Licence
  • Not afraid of getting your hands dirty.
  • Prepared to work every other Saturday
  • Based in the South London or the South East area.
